Beautiful Girlhood Study Suggestions

Shelley Noonan

Are you looking for a Bible study for a group of girls? Beautiful Girlhood and The Companion Guide to Beautiful Girlhood is the perfect tool for Sunday schools, Mother Daughter Bible studies, and neighborhood outreaches.

Before You Begin

1. Pray. Ask God to show you His perfect will for this group, who to invite, what night to meet, and where you will hold the meeting.
2. Choose one time per week that the girls and mothers could get together. About 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours.
3. Choose someone to lead it.
4. Invite both mothers and daughters. Or perhaps the mothers are not available to teach the girls with you and if this is the case, you need to have more mentors who would work with 4-5 girls per group. In other words 1 mentor to 4-5 girls.
5. Ask for someone to be in charge of refreshments weekly OR assign a different girl and her mother to hostess for each meeting. What a way to teach how to be a gracious hostess!
6. Order books. Contact us about the discounts that we have available for your group! info@pumpkinseedpress.net

Beautiful Girlhood Group Bible Study

1. Greet girls and mothers as they arrive and make them feel at home. Seat mother and daughter together.
2.Open with prayer.
3. Leader presents a topic or activity to draw the girls in. For example: The first chapter is on A Rose Bud Opens. The leader could bring a rose bud that is closed and a rose bud that is opened. The bud represents the girl and the full bloom represents the woman.
4. The Chapter is read aloud to girls and mothers that attend by a proficient reader.
5. Break into small groups to discuss the questions and do Bible Study. This would be at the time the girl would break away with her mother or the mentor would gather her group of 4-5 girls and disuss the topics presented.
6. After discussion questions were discussed and the Bible Study was completed, the girls would be given some time to write in their journal about what they learned.
7. Finally, you gather back to the group and go over 1-2 discussion questions in the large group and 1 or 2 Bible questions. Then if there is an activity suggested you could assign it to the girls for the next week. At this point a memory verse can be selected from the weeks chapter and assigned for next week. Prizes would be nice for them having their verses memorized.

Variations:
* The chapter should be read ahead of class time by the girls.
* Each girl should have a book so that she can write her journal and review her lesson.
* Girls could take turn reading chapters to each other in the meeting time.
